A quick explainer about what SEO is and how you can integrate it into your website and why you would need to.

What is SEO?

As defined by Wikipedia:

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of growing the quality and quantity of website traffic by increasing the visibility of a website or a web page to users of a web search engine. SEO refers to the improvement of unpaid results (known as “natural” or “organic” results) and excludes direct traffic and the purchase of paid placement.

Why do I need SEO?

You would need SEO to ensure your users can find you if you think they could be looking for you via a Google Search. In a highly competitive field you will want your business to be found first.

Simply put, if you own a dog walking service you will want users to find your business first when they search “Toronto dog walker” and not your competitor.
